Squad 1

The North Syracuse Fire Department currently operates several SUV's as chief's vehicles as well as a squad utility vehicle.

The Chief's respond directly to scenes and assess the situation before the first arriving apparatus are on scene.  This rapid response allows the chief's to determine if additional resources will be required to mitigate the situation.  All of the Chief's vehicles are also equipped with AED's, mobile computer terminals, and mobile radios.

When Car 1's vehicle is retired from active service and replaced, it remains part of the fleet and becomes Squad 1.  Squad 1 is used as a utility vehicle for fire department business as well as for transporting members to training classes.  When Rescue 3 and Rescue 5 have to go out for service, Squad 1 will be used as an EMS vehicle.

Car 1 and Squad 1 are owned as part of the Fire Department's regular fleet. 

Car 2 and Car 3 are funded by the North Syracuse Firemen's Association.
